Pōhutukawa is the mourning star when we remember loved ones that have passed since the last Matariki.

5.55pm  Opening karakia and turning-on-the-lights countdown every night at the Matariki waharoa main entry.

6pm – 9pm.  The Matariki light trail turns Maybury Reserve into a magical landscape.

Kapa Haka Night with Special performing guests

E Tipu E Rea Whānau Services have a wonderful free programme in Glen Innes Community Centre from 5.30pm to 8pm. Tamariki play area, face painting, , moko stamps, arts & crafts,  hot drinks & more. Presented by Ngāti Paoa.

 

Enjoy light displays of Māori-inspired imagery set among thousands of fairy lights.
